Rohde & Schwarz has developed a multi-functional universal radio network analyzer that provides advanced drive testing. The R&S TSMW drive test scanner supports LTE (Long Term Evolution) formats in all current and future wireless communication bands, with no additional costs.
The R&S TSMW drive test scanner also supports GSM, WCDMA and CDMA2000 1xRTT / 1xEV-DO scanning at the same time.
In addition, several different frequency bands including: Band 2, 4, 5, and 13 (Verizon Wireless); 14 (Public Safety); 17 (AT&T); 24 (LightSquared); and even 25 (Sprint-Nextel) can be operated in parallel using a single R&S TSMW drive test scanner. Offering a wideband receiver, the R&S TSMW enables seamless band support ranging from 30MHz to 6GHz. Each signal with a bandwidth of up to 20MHz can be scanned without limitation.
“The R&S TSMW is the only network scanner that supports LTE in all current and future bands,” explained Stefan Schindler, product manager for drive test at Rohde & Schwarz. “This capability comes at no additional costs and with no limitation in number of bands to be monitored, making it the perfect tool for future challenges, such as carrier aggregation of LTE-Advanced technology.”
The R&S TSMW universal radio network analyzer features an integrated global positioning system (GPS) that can be used for positioning, but is not required for measurement synchronization like other scanners require.
Two highly-sensitive 20MHz frontends for any input frequency from 30MHz to 6GHz, a dual-channel pre-selection and a software-defined architecture offer unsurpassed performance while providing maximum flexibility and operational readiness. The R&S TSMW analyzer enables easy technology upgrades via software updates that can be done quickly, also in the field.
