Managing, monitoring, and reporting power supply operating conditions, NXP’s TEA132X digital point-of-load voltage regulator complies with PMBus 1.1 with 96 standard commands including margining, protections, sequencing, monitoring, and user defaults store. The 32-pin HVQFN-packaged component provides support for SMBus 2.0 with offerings such as process call, fully-operational PEC, and SMBAlert. The multi-phase-prepared unit’s digital control loop demonstrates a switching frequency of up to 1 MHz, stable PID-control, 4 to 5 cycles recovery time, and 13-bit high-resolution digital PWN. The chip consists of an on-chip NVM, power good indication, an 8-input 10-bit monitoring ADC at 400 kS/s, single 3v3 supply, a standby mode, while offering pin-strapped defined operation and a typical supply current of 10 mA. The product runs as a standalone or with a I²C interface at 400 kHz in DC power distributed systems, networking applications, servers and server accessories, telecom systems, industrial/ATE power applications, storage systems, and AC/DC and DC/DC applications.
