Working at bandwidths up to 40 GHz, Ironwood Electronics DG-QFN24C-01 QFN socket performs in 0.5 mm pitch 24-pin ICs. The 4 mm² instrument socket exhibits insertion loss of <1 dB, dissipation up to several watts without extra heat sinking, and handling of up to 100 watts with custom heat sink. The socket offers typical contact resistance of 3 mO per pin, connecting of all pins and the optional center power pad with over 40 GHz bandwidth on all connections, life of 100,000 insertions, and an operating over a temperature range from -70°C to 200°C. The product is constructed with high performance and low inductance diamond particle interconnect contactor, and the pin inductance and capacitance to ground both approach zero. Pricing is $576.
