ITW Versatile Tru-BondOperating in metals, glass, ceramics, plastics, polyethylene, and polypropylene panels, ITW Devcon’s Versatile Tru-Bond 18400 Series light-cured pressure-sensitive adhesives present the option to bond parts immediately or store them for later assembly. The liquid or gel products can be applied by hand or with automated dispensing equipment, such as roll coaters, valve dispensers, sprayers, or screen printers. The adhesives cure instantly to an optically-clear nonyellowing finish when exposed to UV light. The bonding agents offer initial peel strength from 1 pli to 4 pli, “cold flow” characteristics for bond strength from 8 pli to 12 pli in ~12 hours, and withstand service temperatures from -10°F to 125°F. Applications include assembling signs, medical devices, touch pads, and keypads; installing automotive interior trim, graphics, and light panels; laminating foams, foils, and films; and creating form-in-place gaskets. A formulation with a fluorescent tracer has USP Class VI approval, and adhesive surfaces are typically protected with release paper.
