Stand-alone GPS Receiver Module with UART-NMEA Interface

self-contained GPS moduleNavSync’s TrineX CW27 is a self-contained GPS receiver module based on the NemeriX NX3 high sensitivity A-GPS single chip receiver. Using a new baseband processor and RF front end, the module performs in a small SMT package to help minimize power consumption and maximize battery life. It takes up 24 mm × 24 mm of PCB space and connects directly to the host system through a UART using NMEA protocols for enhanced performance and flexibility. The device has been developed for mobile hardware platforms running off batteries, where power consumption and small size are critical. The CW27 provides enhanced GPS tracking, down to -159 dBm, enabling tracking in many obstructed view environments such as urban canyons. Other features include a UART-NMEA interface and an ARM7-based application processor.
