Ironwood introduced the SG-SOIC-3000 socket for SOIC. The compact ZIF sockets provide desirable signal integrity, and can be mounted on the small footprint. It needs about 2.5 mm extra space around the chip than the actual chip size. The device has a short signal path of 0.5 mm or 0.75 mm, and an operating temperature is from -35°C to 100°C. It uses elastomeric interconnect technology and the signal loss is less than 1 dB at 6.5 GHz or 10 GHz. The contact resistance is typically 23 m? per lead. The sockets can be screwed into the mounting board or mounted using epoxy. Pricing begins $475.
