Curtiss-Wright's embedded computing group announced the SVME-1900, a 6U VME single board computer with two Intel Core Duo processors, each running at 1.67 GHz. The low voltage system is useful for aerospace and defense platforms requiring optimal performance per Watt. It's available in L0, L50, and L100 air-cooled rugged configurations with a variety of I/O choices and two PMC expansion slots. Specifications include 2 MB L2 advanced transfer cache per CPU, 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM with ECC, 2 GB USB user FLASH, formatted as two individual drives, Intel E7520 memory controller hub, and Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub. The I/O includes 2 PMC (64-bit) mezzanine expansion sites, 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, 4 RS-232 and 8 RS-422 ports, 2 SATA ports, and 12 DIO lines. Software for the SBC includes board support packages WindowsXPe, Solaris 10, VxWorks, and Linux, with LynxOS coming soon. Volume pricing starts at less than $6,000.
