Link Labs, Inc., an innovator in low-power, wide-area network technologies that power the IoT, and Polte Corporation, a company focused in Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) solutions, have announced they are collaborating on Link Labs’ AirFinder asset tracking solution. Link Labs will utilize Polte’s agreement with Sequans to embed Polte’s C-LoC device software on Sequans’ Monarch platform.
The AirFinder will combine Bluetooth for indoor location and LTE-CAT-M1 for low-power, wide area (LPWA) use cases.
Polte’s C-LoC solution utilizes available 4G and 5G signals and the cloud to emit accurate location indoors and outdoors. The algorithms offload location calculations from the device, and further compute them in the cloud instead. This reduces time-to-market.
“Polte’s location technologies enable an important enhanced feature set to our AirFinder asset tracking system,” says Bob Proctor, CEO of Link Labs. “Combining the power of Polte’s cellular LTE-M1 location solution and Link Labs’ local area Bluetooth and LoRa connectivity into one device provides customers with a quickly scalable, secure, low-power location solution for both indoor and outdoor coverage.”
Additionally, Polte’s CEO Ed Chao says the two companies mesh and utilize their strengths well together.
“Our software-only solution aligns beautifully with the Link Labs AirFinder series. In the past, location solutions required months to deploy. Now the IoT marketplace demands almost immediate scalability, which this collaboration delivers,” says Chao. “Link Labs’ AirFinder series, combined with Polte’s location technologies, gives customers tremendous power for use cases that require coverage from the factory floor to the freeway.”
