The Competitive Carriers Association has partnered with Sling TV to bundle the latter’s OTT video service with members’ wireless plans.
In an announcement Sling TV said new and existing customers will be able to access live and on-demand content, paying for the service through their monthly bill.
CCA is an advocacy organization representing rural, regional, and nationwide carriers, and counts T-Mobile, Sprint, C Spire, and many smaller carriers among its members.
Pricing and other details about the deal were not disclosed.
“This new program helps level the playing field for CCA’s nearly 100 members in an increasingly competitive video industry, where providers constantly battle for customer loyalty,” Warren Schlichting, EVP of marketing, programming, and media sales at Sling, commented in a statement. “Now, Sling TV and CCA make it easier than ever to give CCA members’ 120+ million customers access to the popular entertainment they want at an industry-leading price.”
Sling TV boasts two domestic streaming services that together offer more than 150 channels and programming from networks like Disney, ESPN, Fox, HBO, and NBC, among others.
“We are delighted to partner with Sling TV, the leading live TV streaming service, on this new program, which will bring immense value to members, especially those that do not currently offer video,” Steven K. Berry, president and CEO of CCA, noted. “Customers of CCA members now will have the ability to easily bundle their wireless service with their Sling TV entertainment on a single bill.”
