Verizon is moving forward with its fiber-optic network expansion in Boston, bringing Fios service to customers in parts of the Jamaica Plain and Hyde Park neighborhoods.
The operator says it’s offering Boston residents Fios Triple Play Bundles at a promotional price of just under $70 per month for two years. With the bundle, customers receive Fios Gigabit Connection internet with download speeds of up to 940 Mbps, and upload speeds of up to 880 Mbps, along with TV and phone service.
Verizon has committed to investing $300 million in a fiber network buildout across the city of Boston over six years. Initial Fios rollouts in the city began at the end of 2016, with service to parts of Dorchester, Roslindale, West Roxbury, and Roxbury.
“Since we introduced Fios in Boston late last year we’ve almost doubled available data speed, and now offer our Fios Gigabit Connection service,” Donna Cupelo, president of the New England region at Verizon, comments in a statement. “Our teams are outside everyday transforming Boston’s technology foundation.”
