“The organizational and technological changes that have swept the industry are creating new opportunities for cable operators and their technology partners,” Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE/ISBE, says. “The opening general session of SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2016 has been designed to enable attendees to hear from — and engage directly with — executives who are driving our industry into the future.”

And if you look at the list of speakers just released for the two-hour session that’s slated for Tues., Sept. 27 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, you’re going to see some well-known C-level cable telecommunications executives who’ll be discussing everything from advances in workforce education to the technological future of operators’ networks to how engineering and business developments will shape new opportunities.

The lineup includes:

• Tony Werner, president, technology and product, Comcast (and chairman of the SCTE/ISBE Board of Directors

• Marcus Weldon, CTO at Nokia and president at Nokia Bell Labs

• Bob Stanzione, executive chairman and chairman of the board at Arris

• Jim Blackley, EVP, engineering and IT, Charter

• Balan Nair, EVP and CTO, Liberty Global

• Zoran Stakic, EVP and CTO, Shaw

The opening general session will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the convention center’s Terrace Ballroom.

Previously, SCTE announced the keynoter for the opening session would be Nokia’s Weldon, who is set to offer insights into the future of communications networks, including observations from his recent book, “The Future X Network: A Bell Labs Perspective.”
