The latest developer kit has been shipping with resolution of 1920×1080 (960×1080 per eye) and 1000 Hz absolute 3DOF orientation, with support for Windows, Linux, OS X, and Android.

Facebook’s recent purchase of Oculus has thrown the whole process in disarray, with some critics claiming the social-media giant will destroy the VR headset.
