Software developer Qlik Technologies Inc. said Tuesday that it has bought privately held data management software company Expressor Software.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

QlikTech, based in Radnor, Pa., said the purchase will help it expand its services so that clients can have better access to data needed to make decisions about their technology security and governance.

"Expressor fits squarely in our acquisition strategy. We are acquiring complementary, tuck-in technology that will enhance the value we provide to our customers as we further develop and bring to market these solutions," Lars Björk, CEO of QlikTech, said in a statement.

The company is also taking on 20 Expressor staff, primarily software engineers, which will help expand its research and development work.

Expressor is based in based in Burlington, Mass.

Shares of Qliktech fell 8 cents to close at $21.28.
