The Boston company named President and CEO Alan Herrick and co-founder Jerry Greenberg as co-chairmen.
Gaskins served five years as Sapient's chairman and spent 16 years on its board. He was also chairman of the governance and nominating committee.
Board member Jim Benson is assuming the new position of lead independent director and will take over as chairman of the governance and nominating committee.
Greenberg confounded Sapient in 1990 with Stuart Moore and previously served as its co-CEO and co-chair.
