Flexibility in software development and choice of hardware
With the agreement, IAR Systems offers an extremely flexible model so that Miele’s developers can standardize on the IAR Embedded Workbench toolchain without the need to purchase new software licenses when moving to a new MCU architecture. IAR Embedded Workbench is the world-leading C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain for applications based on 8-, 16-, and 32-bit MCUs, and strongly supports Miele’s freedom in design for next generation products. IAR Systems’ compilers, for instance, are remarkable for their ability to efficiently reduce code size and increase hardware performance. Therefore future products may require less expensive microcontrollers which nevertheless offer fast execution for enhanced end-user comfort.
Tailor-made products and services for fast time-to-market
Also part of the agreement with IAR Systems is a customer-specific product and service agreement tailored to meet the specific requirements of Miele, a company internationally renowned for its high product quality and longevity. This further adds to a fast time-to-market for the sophisticated “white goods” of the world’s leading producer of domestic appliances and professional sterilizers.
