ATLANTA and CHICAGO, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — For the fifth
straight year, Elekta has been selected to demonstrate at the
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Electronic Health
Records (EHR) Lab, June 4-6, at McCormick Place in Chicago. In the
spotlight will be Elekta’s MOSAIQ® Oncology Information System,
the first and only oncology-specific comprehensive EMR certified
for Meaningful Use under the federal government’s HITECH Act.
MOSAIQ is fully prepared for centers planning attestation in 2011
or 2012.
Elekta is among 12 providers chosen to present at the EHR
Lab, a forum for ASCO members to discover the latest EHR
technology. With nearly 30,000 members, ASCO is the world’s leading
professional organization representing physicians who care for
people with cancer.
Elekta’s integrated Oncology Information Systems features a
complete, patient-centric chart optimized for medical oncology,
radiation oncology and comprehensive practices. During the Lab,
Elekta clinical experts will be available to provide hands-on
demonstrations of MOSAIQ, and show how this unique, single-database
EHR can perform clinical decision support, chemotherapy ordering
and Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) case
selection.
“Elekta has repeatedly demonstrated and followed through on its
commitment to deliver a comprehensive and robust oncology-specific
EHR and to support emerging healthcare trends,” says Grant Spencer,
Vice President, Product Creation, Oncology Information Systems.
“For example, Elekta was a leader in support of government
initiatives by offering the first comprehensive EHR to receive
complete ONC-ATCB certification, and we were ready to implement
ICD-10 diagnosis codes years ahead of the deadlines. Elekta is
committed to the delegates of ASCO, our customers and clinical
partners by providing efficient, streamlined workflows that allow
them to focus on patient care.”
