Web portal Yahoo Inc. said Wednesday that the president of online content delivery company Akamai Technologies Inc., David Kenny, will join its board of directors on April 1, replacing Eric Hippeau, who has been on the board since 1996.
Yahoo chairman Roy Bostock called Kenny a "transformative figure in the industry," and thanked Hippeau for his dedication to the company over the years.
Kenny was previously managing partner at VivaKi and CEO of Digitas Inc., a company he transformed from a direct marketer into an interactive communications company.
Yahoo shares fell 13 cents to $16.30 in after-hours trading Wednesday. They ended the regular session at $16.43, down 16 cents.
