Discera, Inc., the leading provider of silicon timing technology announced the production availability of 10 ppm versions of its DSC1001 low jitter and the DSC8001 programmable silicon oscillators. These oscillators are the first silicon timing products to deliver 10 ppm accuracy at up to 85 degrees Celsius as required by ultra-compact and mobile consumer electronics and computing products. They are also the first to deliver this level of performance in a consumer grade product to improve the quality and stability of high definition video applications and wireless communications. Up until now, 10 ppm was only possible for expensive and high power enterprise and carrier grade timing devices.
The DSC1001 and DSC8001 enable mobile, video, and wireless system manufacturers to deliver smaller, lower power products without sacrificing performance by delivering 10 ppm accuracy from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius at frequencies up to 150 MHz and in sizes as small as 2.0 x 2.5 mm. Their 2.6 billion hour MTBF reliability rating is over 2x better than the MEMS industry and is over 20x better than crystal oscillators with over 30x better shock and vibration immunity.

The DSC1001 and DSC8001 are timing's most versatile families of products, available as 100% drop-in crystal oscillator(XO) replacements in industry-standard sizes from 2.0 x 2.5 to 7.0 x 5.0 mm, with operating voltages from 1.7 to 3.6 v. The DSC1001 family is fixed frequency and the DSC8001 is programmable from 1 to 150 MHz with operating temperature ranges up to -40 to 105 degrees C and leadtimes of 2 to 3 weeks.
