IGo Inc. said it has named Phoenix Suns President and CEO Rick Welts as a board member.
The provider of laptop computer and cell phone chargers said Monday that Welts will also serve on its audit committee and the compensation and human resources committee as well as become chairman of the corporate governance and nominating committee.
IGo, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., said Welts membership on the audit committee has allowed it to regain compliance with Nasdaq's rule requiring at least three independent members serve on the committee.
Welts has been with the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association since 2002 and was named CEO in 2009.
IGo stock added 14 cents, or 8.4 percent, to $1.80 in afternoon trading. The shares hit a 52-week high of $1.81 earlier in the session.
