Milwaukee-based Journal Communications Inc. is scheduled to release its fourth-quarter and full-year 2009 earnings.

The publisher of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will release its earnings report early Thursday morning.

When it reported its third-quarter earnings in October, the media company said it expected modest increases in advertising revenue in the fourth quarter.

The company reported $1.8 million in earnings last quarter. That compared to a loss of $17 million in the same quarter last year.

Its fourth-quarter results will include a pretax charge of $600,000. That stems from December layoffs in which 39 workers in various business departments were let go.

The company's stock price was $4.10 three months ago. It closed Wednesday at $3.22.
