Lawson Software Inc. said Thursday it has agreed to acquire the holding company parent of Healthvision Solutions Inc. for $160 million in cash.
Healthvision's Cloverleaf integration technology connects disparate software systems and is used by a third of North American hospitals and 40 percent of large integrated delivery networks, Lawson said.
Meanwhile, Lawson has a leading position in providing enterprise software to health care organizations, and the combination of the companies can help clients reduce costs, it said.
Dallas-based Healthvision has 300 employees in North America, the U.K. and China and 800 customers, about a quarter of which are also Lawson customers.
Lawson shares fell 34 cents, or 4.9 percent, to $6.65 in after-hours trading, after rising a penny to close at $6.99 on Wednesday.
