Electronic Arts Inc. said Thursday it has struck licensing deals with three electronics makers to provide accessories for its video games.
The companies include Sakar International Inc., based in Edison, N.J.; Germany's Sunflex Europe; and Accessories 4 Technology Ltd., based in the U.K.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
EA said the companies will work on accessories for several of its video game titles, including the EA Sports Active line of fitness games.
The deal comes as video games with elaborate external gadgets, such as Nintendo's "Wii Fit," become more popular. One of EA's most popular game lines, the "Rock Band" franchise, comes with plastic guitars and other accessories.
The company's shares fell 14 cents to $18.04 Thursday, and lost 6 cents in after-hours trading.
