Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU) has acquired Vancouver-based SDS Software, a provider of management software for school districts, local governments and utilities companies for an undisclosed amount.

The Toronto-based company said Monday the agreement was completed through its subsidiary Harris Computer Systems, but did not disclose the price of the acquisition.

"SDS is a significant milestone in the Harris School Solutions growth plan as it expands our presence into the Canadian market," said Jerry Canada, general manager of Harris School Solutions.

"We will complement the SDS product portfolio with our current student management solutions and continue to compete for new business throughout Canada."

SDS handles technology for Canadian school boards, covering human resources, payroll, fund accounting, and fund management for student activities.

The company will continue to run out of its Vancouver office, Harris said in a release.
