Being crammed behind the wheel looking at a seemingly endless river of traffic isn’t on anybody’s wish-list. Thankfully, NEVS is hard at work turning that scenario into a more relaxing experience. The company plans to display the new InMotion Concept for the very first time at CES Asia in Shanghai.
Based on SAE’s levels of self-driving vehicles ranging from zero to five, InMotion was designed for level five full automation. At level five, the vehicle operates under “the full-time performance by an automated driving system of all aspects of the dynamic driving task under all roadway and environmental conditions that can be managed by a human driver.”

InMotion is all about flexibility and personal comfort. Upon arrival, passengers enter into an environment that suits their individual needs, whether they’re traveling in a private, social, or business setting.
A mobile app will accompany the concept car, which can control lighting ambiance, seat movements, climate control, and more. In addition, the cabin will provide wireless charging for passenger electronics.
“This design is starting from an interior perspective, with the intention of showing how people can add quality to their lives by filling the time of travelling with value, and not wasting it by being stuck behind the wheel, sometimes for hours just to get across the downtown areas. This is why we are displaying this flexible and very user-friendly concept. This is unique compared to others,” says NEVS Vice President of Sales and Marking Jonas Hernqvist.
