In the famous words of Optimus Prime, “Autobots, roll out!”
A team of Turkish engineers, from the company Letrons, have successfully turned an ordinary BMW into a real-life, fully-functional transformer. Now every time I’m stuck in traffic, I can pretend there’s a transformer in the surrounding sea of cars, just waiting to go into battle.
The main control unit has the central responsibility of managing all the operation functions, like the amazing car-to-robot transformation. In order to transform in an effective manner, additional hydraulic supplements were designed into the 35.0000 N main hydraulic cylinder system.
The transformer can move its mechanical fingers by utilizing 400 Ncm servo engine power. Adding to the esthetic quality of the design, the eyes were created with an LED-based structure. A 1.000 N actuator is responsible for the neck and body connection, while a 100 N actuator is responsible for the BMW’s dynamic neck movements. It also speaks! #PeterCullen
If you weren’t impressed enough, the transformer also has WiFi technology with 2.4 GHz 54 Mbps fast data transfer. Thanks to the 5 dBi antenna, you can get even more WiFi coverage for all your wireless needs.
There isn’t a whole lot of room for a human to sit inside the robot car, but the BMW can still be moved via remote control. Crime-fighting isn’t in this transformer’s future because after it goes from car to robot, that’s it. This robot currently has zero walking functionality, but the company hopes to add this feature in the near future.
You better check out this exciting creation, because this particular BMW is definitely more than meets the eye.
