Recently, USAF Airmen from the 16th Airlift Squadron executed an impressive parachute air drop from a giant C-17 Globemaster III (also known as the Moose), dropping eight Humvee military vehicles to a drop zone in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
The exercise, combining air and ground units, is an example of the USAF’s ability to access enemy territory regardless of infrastructure. (No runway? No problem.)
In the video (below), watch the massive C-17 take off, the cargo hold open, and the bundled-up Humvees slide off the rear ramp and take to the sky.
Fortunately, all of the parachutes open—avoiding what would be the impact of a five thousand pound tactical meteor.
