TI demonstrates industrial sensor solutions

Fri, 02/25/2011 - 10:42am

The Industrial sensor pod at SPS Drives 2010 shows how we address the topics of Energy Efficiency, Integrated Industrial Communication, Safety and Security and Industrial RFID. The basis for many industrial sensor applications is a MCU that can run off a single battery for 10, 15 or even 20 years, while at the same time facilitating accurate measurements of temperature, pressure, humidity or electromagnetic fields. The MSP430 family in general and the F51x2 in particular offer everything an industrial sensor MCU requires. ULP in active and stand-by, ultrafast wake-up and a rich industrial feature set including high resolution timer and 5V IOs. MSP430 MCUs support new sensor technologies like IO-Link, wireless sensor networks based on Zigbee or SimpliciTI, battery-based applications and even battery-less harvesting applications.
