Much has been written about the efficiency of Class D amplifiers, with figures of 90 percent or greater being routinely quoted. Such numbers might seem to suggest that the efficiency problem of audio amplifiers has been well-solved by conventional Class D. Microsoft Corp posted a bigger-than-expected 60 percent jump in quarterly profit, helped by strong sales of Windows 7, and said it expected business technology spending to recover this year.
