Capacitor Contactor Handles up to 80 kvar
Thu, 12/30/2010 - 5:43am
Cap contactorTDK-EPC, a group company of TDK Corporation, has developed a new capacitor contactor for switching powers of 80 kvar. It supplements the previous series for powers of 12.5, 20, 25, 33, 50, 75 and 100 kvar, enabling more cost-effective PFC solutions to be implemented in specific configurations. Use of a 100 kvar contactor or parallel connection of lower powers is no longer required.

The new 80 kvar contactor offers the same advantages and technical properties as the other types of this series:

Attenuation of inrush currents;
Optimized switching behaviour that extends the operating life of PFC capacitors and of the entire system;
Transient avoidance;
Reduced resistive losses;
Simple installation;
Isolated and protected resistor function;
Improved energy quality.

These 80 kvar contactors are available now:

B44066S9010J230 and B44066S9010J110 for PFC systems without reactors, coil voltages 230 V and 110 V, respectively; B44066S9010N230 and B44066S9010N110 only for detuned systems, coil voltages 230 V and 110 V, respectively.

Like all contactors, the new type also has auxiliary contacts.

Samples are available, and pricing is $110-160 each depending on value and quantity.
