3 W AC-DC Power Supplies Designed for Space Critical Applications

MPS-03S seriesStoughton, MA (February 19, 2010) Available immediately from MicroPower Direct, the MPS-03S series is a family of single output, 3W switching power supplies. Specifically designed for space critical applications, these low cost modules are fabricated in an ultra-miniature single-in-line (SIP) package.

Six standard models operate from a universal input of 85 to 264 VAC; providing tightly regulated single outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, or 24 VDC. They may also be used in high voltage DC/DC applications with an input of 100 to 400 VDC. Standard features include tight line/load regulation, continuous short circuit protection, input/output isolation of 2,000 VAC, and very low leakage current.

The MPS-03S has a Class II input (IEC61140). This means it can be used without an earth ground connection. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MPS-03S series is greater than 200 khours. The series is RoHS compliant.
The MPS-03S series is packaged in an ultra-miniature SIP package. Each model is specified for operation over the wide industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (ambient).

The MPS-03S series is an ideal solution for a variety of applications requiring high performance, miniature size and low cost. Applications would include industrial automation systems, machine/process control equipment, and telecommunications/data processing systems. With its Class II input, the MPS-03S series is a good choice for remote or portable equipment where a reliable ground is often not available.
