Generating a main output of 12 VDC and an auxiliary output of 3.3 VDC, Emerson Network Power’s DS1200-3 and DS2000-3 power supplies offer power densities of 21 W/in.³ and 26 W/in.³, respectively. The devices use an I²C interface and the PMBus communications protocol in 1U rack-mounting server applications. The supplies offer input voltage from 90 VAC to 264 VAC, active power factor correction, a typical power factor of 0.99 typical, and active AC inrush control. The instruments include a GUI, active single-wire current sharing, ORing FETs, and a serial EEPROM. The 10.9” × 3.3” × 1.6” 1,200 W DS1200-3 delivers 98.4 A (main) and 6 A (auxiliary), and achieves 91% conversion efficiency at 50% load when fed with a 180 VAC to 264 VAC input. The 11.6” × 4.2” × 1.6” 2,000 W DS2000-3 delivers 164.2 A (main) and 9 A (auxiliary), and achieves 92% efficiency between 50% and 75% full load when fed with a 180 VAC to 264 VAC input.
