The 3M Electronic Solutions Division extended its product line for interconnect products to include an RoHS-compliant, 34 position, 2 mm Molded-On Socket for the 2M Series. The 34-position molded-on socket cable assembly, along with the rest of the product family, has a rugged, one-piece design with integral strain relief and closed connector ends. With a 2 mm × 2 mm pitch, it is fully customizable to customer specifications, and it offers a space-saving, lower height profile that stands up to repeated insertions and withdrawals, helping with airflow in high density applications.
BlockMaster introduced its Model OTB-351 modular thru-panel modular power terminal block that saves panel space with its tight 8.5 mm terminal spacing. Standard SEMS screws with terminals of nickel plated brass makes the series suitable for easy field service and product assembly usages. They are appropriate for power supplies, motor drives, industrial controls, electric heating, lighting and almost any other thru-panel medium power/current applications. The series is specified for use within an operating temperature range of from –30°C to +80°C, accepting wire sizes of 12 AWG to 22 AWG. Housing material is a polycarbonate (UL94V-O) with black as the standard color.
Lighthorse Technologies, Inc. released its IPX series of connectors and cable assemblies. The micro-miniature connector is 100 percent form, fit and function compatible with all U.FL Hirose series interfaces. Because if their small size, the connectors are suitable for a variety of space critical applications. Operating up to 6 GHz, the low profile (2.5 mm) series has a 3 mm square PCB footprint. The cable assemblies can be cut to any length and attached to a variety of RF coaxial connectors.
Kycon expanded its HDMI connector series by adding a vertical and a stacked version to the existing KDMIX Series. Both the vertical and the stacked connectors enable the next generation interface for end consumer products such as digital televisions, set-top boxes and DVD players. These connectors provide the same standard features as the traditional version, while offering additional product design flexibility. Both carry up to 10.2 Gb/s of uncompressed audio and video, they are fully shielded for ESD protection and they are RoHS compliant.
API Nanotronics Corp. announced that its National Hybrid, Inc. (NHi) division has developed an affordable, portable 1553 to USB interface. The 1553/USB Pocket Pal is a redundant 1553 BC/MT/RT terminal with 64K words of internal RAM. It interfaces to a 2.0 compliant USB port, making any laptop/notebook into an autonomous 1553 work station. It weighs less than 7 oz., and it is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Features include hardware and software development, bus exercisor, bus evaluation and trouble shooting. Other applications include BUS management and BUS integrity analysis.
OKW Enclosures announced its ergonomic MINITEC enclosures for small, portable electronics which are carried in the hand, in a pocket, on a key ring or on a neck chain. AXON’ Cable expanded its AXOLINK line of flat cable assemblies by adding shielded assemblies that include DF-19 (Hirose) and FI/FI-X (JAE) connectors. They are suitable for connecting displays with LVDS data interfaces. The product line consists of flat flexible cables with tinned copper conductors and polyester insulation. Shielded assemblies with 14, 20 and 30 conductors include DF-19, FX and FI-X connectors. Other connector types are also available. The shielding of these cables is carried out with a ground plane grounded on the connector, assuring a constant impedance of 100? for a stable picture transmission.
Vectron International announced its Model VTM3 small temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) that offers phase noise performance in a small package (3.2 mm × 2.5 mm), enabling customers in the communications, industrial test and military markets to benefit from the flexibility of a smaller, lower power oscillator without compromising stability and phase noise performance. The device is optimized for use in a range of wireless RF applications that include GPS, in-car navigation, pilot locator, security/tracking, WLAN, WiMAX and WiFi base stations, Bluetooth, digital cameras, PHS, RFID, test equipment and wireless meter readers.
Providing a resolution of up to 1000 counts per turn, the HEDM-5540 optical transmissive three-channel encoder from Avago Technologies can operate in temperatures from -40°C to 100°C, suitable for use in industrial environments. The TTL-compatible devices accept 5V and provide a third-channel index output in addition to two-channel quadrature, with a 90 electrical degree, high true index pulse output with up to 100 kHz frequency response.

It comes with a PICkit Serial Analyzer and the royalty-free mTouch Sensing Solution SDK to provide a complete platform for implementing capacitive touch-sensing interfaces using integrated, 8-bit Flash PIC microcontrollers.
