Boonton, a Wireless Telecom Group company, introduced its PIM 20 ultra portable test system for passive intermodulation. Its design provides a rugged, reliable tool for RF field technicians. The device is battery-driven and self-calibrating. When connected to a component or system, users can read the measurement value (dBc) directly from the display, follow the LED bar that turns red if too high of a PIM value is measured, or they can connect it to a device like a Walkie-Talkie to listen remotely if PIM values change when altering components (e.g. tap test).
Using optional barriers that prevent color mixing from adjacent rows Elma Electronics’ LED Lightpipes provide distinct color output. The lightpipes have thin polycarbonate barriers which are configurable, block intruding light from other tube lanes, and add strength; resulting in clear, segregated color definition. The lightpipes offer the flexibility to have barriers between some or all of pipes, allowing the ability to mix and match.
Pickering Interfaces introduced its Model 40-262 high accuracy resistance temperature detector simulator that is an 18-channel variable resistor module designed to simulate the operation of PT100 and PT1000 RTDs with resolution and accuracy in the PXI form factor. The detector provides an accuracy of more than 0.1 percent for all resistance settings, allowing RTDs to be simulated with accuracy. It uses a design principal that combines fine and coarse control mechanisms in combination with a calibration system to achieve its performance.
Linear Technology Corp. introduced its LTC4151 high side power monitor that measures current and input voltages from 7V to 80V. The monitor uses an internal 12-bit ADC to continuously measure both high side current and input voltage to give a true power reading. It replaces prior units that use costly current sense amplifiers with a separate ADC, a hot-swap controller with an ADC, or an ADC with a floating ground.
Macro Sensors introduced its LP750 series position sensors that are hermetically sealed, frictionless, and they can serve as long-life replacements for failing potentiometers in a range of industrial position measurement applications such as machine tool positioning, hydraulic cylinder positioning, valve position sensing and automatic assembly equipment. Offering frictionless position feedback similar to the potentiometer, these sensors have no parts that wear out, offering unlimited cycle life and greater performance than a potentiometer.
Pepperl+Fuchs introduced its Model VOS300 series vision sensors that combine a camera, illumination, digital outputs, process data and five evaluation methods into a single, rugged sensor housing. The result is an out-of-the-box vision sensing system that is easily configured without programming knowledge and operated without the need for detailed image processing experience. The sensors deliver advanced functionality in a number of complex inspection applications where traditional photoelectric sensors are unsuitable for use.
Automation Products Group, Inc. (APG) released its Guide to Ultrasonic and Level Sensors that details the company’s ultrasonic, liquid level and solid level sensing systems for process control. Each product section includes a full operational description, list of potential applications, detailed specifications and dimensions, and ordering information.
Micronor, Inc. announced its ENA361M (hollow shaft) and ESA361M (solid shaft) series ruggedized high resolution analog output absolute encoders that provide 12-bit resolution with a choice of analog output for high reliability industrial automation and process control applications. These single-turn absolute encoders are offered with a choice of 4 mA to 20 mA or 0V to 10V output, and measuring range options of 45°C, 90°C, 180°C or 360°C.
BEI Industrial Encoders introduced its dual output drawworks HS35 encoder for oil field applications that combines rugged, heavy-duty features into a through-shaft style for use as a winch-turns counter in the drawworks system of oil rigs. The encoder can supply simultaneous position feedback to two separate systems from a single encoder. The hard-anodized metal housing, sealed connector, IS rating, dual bearings and shaft seals for NEMA 4 and 13 (IP65) ratings combine to provide a rugged encoder that performs in the harsh oil field environment.
congatec AG added the conga-CA to its COM Express product line. It features the Intel Atom processor Z500 Series and the Intel System Controller Hub US15W. The complete design of this 95 mm × 95 mm, 3¾" × 3¾" sized COM Express module is geared around low power consumption. Typical power requirements for this module will be less than 5W which, when combined with ACPI 3.0 battery management, ultra mobile embedded applications
American Bright Lighting's UL Listed (UL file number E315644) SimpleTube LED replacement lamp is presented as being capable of replacing T-8 fluorescent tubes in large-scale retail refrigerators and freezers. According to the company, independent laboratory testing performed
Micrel, Inc. introduced its Model MIC22400 fully integrated 4A synchronous buck regulator for powering systems from 3.3V and 5V supply rails. With operating frequency programmable from 800 KHz to 4 MHz, it features built-in sequencing, tracking and ramp control, enabling all power-up sequencing and tracking protocols. Targeted at the communications, computing peripherals and high-end consumer markets, the regulator is suitable for servers/routers, HD DVD recorders, wireless base stations, FPGAs, DSPs and low voltage ASICs. The regulator features fully integrated 60 m? P-FET and 35 m? N-FET switches that deliver a 4A output current with an input voltage range of 2.6V to 5.5V.
Tripp Lite expanded its line of power distribution units (PDUs) to provide options in power capacity, form factor and management. Most of the models feature a proprietary built-in network interface that allows users to remotely monitor and control individual outlets and connected devices via SNMP, Web or Telnet. For greater functionality, free PowerAlert network management software centrally monitors and controls power for up to 250 UPS systems or PDUs on their network. The software allows managers to mass-configure multiple remote device settings from a single location, and they can also be set to auto-discover UPS and PDU devices in specific network segments or IP address ranges.
Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. expanded its power semiconductor line with a family of high-speed switching MOSFETs based on UMOS VI-H which enables a reduction in gate switch charge and on-state resistance (RDS(ON)), resulting in greater power efficiency. The Models TPCA8028-H and TPC8035-H MOSFETs are intended for use in high efficiency DC/DC converter applications in notebook PCs and other electronic applications.
