Optical positioning sensor features built-in interpolation
MicroE Systems (Woodbridge, Ontario) released its Optical Positioning Sensor (OPS) Series, which is positioned as delivering high performance and advanced positioning system features. With linear resolutions of 1 µm, 0.5 µm, 0.1 µm and 50 µm, and rotary resolutions of 163k CPR to 3.3M CPR, OPS fits many different applications. The low cyclical error (up to +/-25 nm) enables high positioning accuracy (up to +/-3 um/m), and smooth velocity control. The sensor:
- Is equipped with the company’s patented optical design.
- Features built-in interpolation and AGC ensuring performance and reliability.
- Can be configured with optical limits to reduce cabling and works with MicroE’s cut-to-length linear tape, cost-effective linear glass, and rotary glass scales.
