Digital pressure sensor combines rugged housing with high performance
Measurement Specialties’ (Hampton, VA) 86BSD media-isolated digital output pressure sensor combines a low-profile, 16 mm diaphragm diameter with a rugged 316L stainless steel housing. The new sensor targets high performance, low pressure applications in hostile environments. The new piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor incorporates a custom ASIC for temperature compensation and offset correction. The 14-bit digital output supports both I2C and SPI interface protocols to meet specific application data requirements. The sensor provides both pressure and temperature readouts. The new sensor is available in a pressure range of 1 psi to 300 psi (0.07 bar to 20 bar) in either absolute or gauge references with an operating temperature of -40°C to +125°C. The unit provides a total error band (TEB) of up to ±1 %Span, which includes calibration errors and temperature effects over the compensated range of -20°C to +85°C, as well as an accuracy of ±0.25%Span. Additional specifications include:
- 14-bit digital output with I2C and SPI interfaces.
- 1 psi to 300 psi (0.07 bar to 20 bar).
- Supply voltages of 3.3 VDC or 5.0 VDC.
