Stamped spring pin features cycle life of 125,000 insertions

Ironwood Electronics (Eagan, MN) recently introduced a new BGA socket addressing high performance requirements for testing BGA devices - SBT-BGA-7019. The contactor is a stamped spring pin with 31 gram actuation force per ball and cycle life of 125,000 insertions. Features include:

  • Self inductance of 0.88 nH.
  • Insertion loss < 1 dB at 15.7 GHz and capacitance 0.097pF.
  • Current capacity of 4 amps at 30ºC temperature rise.
  • Socket temperature range of -55ºC to +180ºC.
