PCIe and RAID controller cardsStarTech.com announced two new PCI Express RAID controller Cards -- the PEXSAT34RH and PEXSAT34SFF -- which balance the performance characteristics of solid state storage with the capacity associated with standard hard drives. These cards feature Marvell HyperDuo SSD Auto-Tiering Technology and enable users to combine SATA SSD and HDD drives into a single volume (up to 3 SSD + 1 HDD), while built-in HyperDuo technology discreetly identifies and moves frequently accessed files to the faster SSD drive(s).  Features include AHCI SATA III (6Gbps) internal ports, supporting a total of seven HDDs/SSDs/Optical/Blu-Ray drives; port multiplier FIS-based and Command-based switching supported on all ports; and support for RAID 0, 1 and 1+0 modes.
