Miniaturized Ceramic Antennas Offer Flexible Placement In GPS, Bluetooth Devices

April 4, 2008 7:58 am | Comments

Ethertronics introduced two miniaturized ceramic antennas: a GPS/Bluetooth version and a GPS antenna, which is said to provide high efficiency while minimizing ground clearance and component “keep out” areas. Designed to address the challenges associated with incorporating multiple RF-functions into mobile devices, both antennas include

AWGs Furnish Complex Waveforms

April 4, 2008 7:47 am | Keysight Technologies | Comments

Using 15-bit vertical resolution, Agilent Technologies’ N6030A (PXI) and N8241A (LXI) PXI-and LXI-based arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs) can create simultaneous wide-bandwidth and high-resolution signals for electronic testing of radar, satellite, telecom or military communication equipment. Offers a spurious-free dynamic range of less than -65 dBc per channel, DC to 500 MHz, with a noise floor of less than -150 dBc/Hz. When combined with the Agilent PSG vector signal generator wideband I/Q upconverter, the AWGs can achieve modulation bandwidths as high as 1 GHz at up to 44 GHz for IF and RF subsystem testing. Each of the four-slot generators’ two channels offer 1.25 GS/s with a signal bandwidth of up to 500 MHz and a standard waveform length of 8 MS per channel, expandable to 16 MS.

Test System Measures Passive Intermodulation

April 4, 2008 6:37 am | Comments

Boonton, a Wireless Telecom Group company, introduced its PIM 20 ultra portable test system for passive intermodulation. Its design provides a rugged, reliable tool for RF field technicians. The device is battery-driven and self-calibrating. When connected to a component or system, users can read the measurement value (dBc) directly from the display, follow the LED bar that turns red if too high of a PIM value is measured, or they can connect it to a device like a Walkie-Talkie to listen remotely if PIM values change when altering components (e.g. tap test).

LED Lightpipes Prevent Color Mixing

April 4, 2008 6:33 am | Comments

Using optional barriers that prevent color mixing from adjacent rows Elma Electronics’ LED Lightpipes provide distinct color output. The lightpipes have thin polycarbonate barriers which are configurable, block intruding light from other tube lanes, and add strength; resulting in clear, segregated color definition. The lightpipes offer the flexibility to have barriers between some or all of pipes, allowing the ability to mix and match.

High Accuracy Resistance Temperature Detector Simulator

April 4, 2008 6:31 am | Comments

Pickering Interfaces introduced its Model 40-262 high accuracy resistance temperature detector simulator that is an 18-channel variable resistor module designed to simulate the operation of PT100 and PT1000 RTDs with resolution and accuracy in the PXI form factor.
