Microprocessor design trainer allows users to implement a fully functioning MCU in minutes
Global Specialties introduced the DL-030, Microprocessor Design Trainer. The DL-030 uses an FPGA chip, allowing a user to implement a fully functioning microcontroller in minutes. This complete and ruggedly packed trainer is positioned as providing a solid learning platform for individuals and classroom students. With this trainer, users can create and implement their first design in as little as one hour, according to the company. The DL-030 FPGA-based Microprocessor Design Trainer features an Altera Cyclone III FPGA , Altera Nios II embedded processor, a software CD with powerful designing/implementing tools, a 137-page lab manual, an iPad version of the lab manual available on iTunes, 11 hands-on labs correlated to any textbook for microprocessor design training, works with any Windows XP or higher system (32-bit only), a rugged blow-molded carrying case, 100 machined pin hookup wires, 16 LEDs, three 7-segment displays, 16 slide switches and three pushbutton switches, four each, regulated 5V power (Vcc) and ground (GND) , and eight input/output connection sockets. The expandable breadboard allows the system to grow as students' knowledge increases. Experiments can be performed using standard TTL logic, and the DL-030 can implement all of the experiments and circuits of the DL-010 and DL-020 trainers.
