August 1, 2007 9:30 am | Comments

PCB Piezotronics introduced its Model 3711 high-sensitivity, MEMS DC (steady state) response accelerometer for automotive and off-highway testing. It is gas damped and provides micro g resolution and 10,000g shock survivability. Several full-scale acceleration ranges are available from 3g to 200g with a frequency response from DC to 1,500 Hz (±5 percent). The sensor’s footprint is 0.85¨ x 0.85¨ x 0.45¨ in a welded titanium case design

Triaxial Force Sensors for Aerospace Vibration Testing

August 1, 2007 9:22 am | Comments

PCB Piezotronics’ 261A Series triaxial force link sensors simultaneously measure dynamic and quasi-static forces in three orthogonal directions (X, Y and Z axes). The sensors are used during vibration testing of aerospace structures to match the mechanical impedance of shaker inputs and may be used to force-limit the shaker controller to prevent damage to expensive structures.

Strain Sensors Measure Quality on Resistance Welding Machines

August 1, 2007 9:14 am | Comments

PCB Piezotronics’ JM240 ICP Ground Isolated Strain Sensors use piezoelectric sensing elements to indirectly measure dynamic and quasi-static stress forces on resistance welding machinery structures. The sensors feature sensitivity stability, repeatability, high resolution and long life. Mounted on a C-frame or actuator with a single screw keeps the sensor out of the current flow, and high electrical noise environments do not affect the ground-isolated design.

Force Measurement System

August 1, 2007 7:22 am | Comments

PCB Piezotronics introduced an In-Process Force Measurement system, which consists of a Series M240 ICP Strain Sensor and Model 410A01 ICP signal conditioner featuring Peak Hold. The Peak Hold feature allows older PCL systems to stay in synch with high-speed production cycles. The Model 410A01 CIP signal conditioner captures and holds the peak reading until aPLC can scan for the value.

Long-life Resistive Touch Panels

August 1, 2007 7:13 am | Comments

Fujitsu Components America released production samples of its next-generation, resistive touch panels using an organic conductive polymer material. The custom touch panels are said to offer five times the durability and comparable optical properties of conventional ITO (Indium Tin Oxide)-film panels. This provides a durable touch surface and extends the touch panel’s operational life, especially in repeated-touch applications such as cell phones, PDAs, tablet PCs, instrumentation and other pen-based devices. The panels are also scratch-resistant, sealed and able to withstand harsh chemical and input abuse

Expanded LED Panel Mount Indicator Offering

August 1, 2007 7:07 am | Comments

Dialight Corporation expanded its line of LED panel mount indicators with its 612 and 616 Series for easy front panel mounting in 12 mm (0.492") and 16 mm (0.642") holes and panel thicknesses of up to 6.3 mm (0.236"). The RoHS-compliant indicators are designed for a variety of applications including main/remote power indication, status indication, maintenance/warning indication and instrumentation.
