New Scale Technologies added to its SQL Series of piezoelectric SQUIGGLE motors, said to be the world’s smallest linear motors. The SQL-1.8 SQUIGGLE motor travels as fast as 7 mm per second and pushes axial loads of up to 30 g -- nearly 200 times its own weight of 0.16 g. At 1.8 × 1.8 × 6 mm, the SQL-1.8 is still less than half the size of competing micro-motors, according to the company.
Raltron Electronics Corp. released their PCC-A1-3100 PLL family of VCO’s covering a frequency range of between 500 MHz and 3.5 GHz. The unit consists of a PLL IC loop filter and VCO. It uses an internal frequency reference that typically is 10 MHz but could also be specified at different values by the customer. Key specifications for a 3100 MHz unit show typical operating supply voltage at 5.0V at 70 mA
Sauer-Danfoss announced the release of its H1 45/53cc and 78cc single pumps, joining the 147/165cc single pump and the 45/53cc integral tandem pump for a variety of propel and non-propel applications. The H1 family of closed-circuit variable displacement axial piston pumps is compact and features high power density. All the units use an integral electro-hydraulic servo piston assembly that controls rate (speed) and direction of hydraulic flow.
Parker Hannifin Corporation introduced their C05 and C05S Short Stroke Pneumatic Cylinder Series. They feature compact, short stroke cylinders in single- and double-acting versions, suited for clamping and locking operations in a variety of industrial markets. Stainless steel piston rods are standard for corrosion resistance. The double-acting C05 pneumatic cylinder is available in 12, 20, 32, 50 and 63 bore sizes with strokes up to 25 mm.
Catalyst Semiconductor's CAT3604V is a four-channel LED driver eliminates high-profile inductors and unwanted EMI. It has a fourth operational mode, 1.33x, in addition to the typical modes of 1x, 1.5x, and 2x. The 1.33x mode helps reduce input switching currents to the battery, thereby minimizing overall supply noise. The driver also has a dimming interface
Aimtec added to its low output power products with the AM1/4S-Z series of single output, DC/DC converters in SIP4 packages of .46" x .38" x .24". The devices have I/O isolation of up to 3000V DC, output currents up to 75.7mA, and efficiency rates up to 72 percent. Portable power management applications are their ideal use. There are 48 models with input values of 5, 12, and 24V DC and output values ranging from 3.3 to 24V DC.
Presens AS announced their PRECISE pressure sensor which utilizes advanced digital MEMS technology for applications such as calibrators and digital gauges that require high accuracy, low drift and high resolution. The sensor accurately measures high pressures with no significant drift. The sensor boasts a guaranteed total error band
Rabbit announced the RCM4300 series of RabbitCore modules that enable a new generation of applications that use more memory for data and code. Software design is supported by the release of the company's Dynamic CR tools that include Megabyte Code Support (MCS), enabling designers to use over 1M byte of SRAM for shared code and data
The Buccaneer Antenna from Bulgin Components is said to be a completely waterproof medium gain antenna developed for the 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz frequency band. According to the company, integrating the antenna with its waterproof connector can reduce the total number of connectors in the RF chain, reducing insertion losses, effectively increasing the total system gain. Designed to the same style as Bulgin's SMB Buccaneer
Omron Electronic Components LLC announced the G5LA relay series which is a cost effective alternative to industry standard sugar cube style relays. This relay offers a switching capacity of 10A at 250V AC/24V DC on the normally open contacts and 5A at 125V AC / 24V DC on the normally closed contacts with a typical electrical life of 100,000 operations at those rated loads. The relays have a resistive load rating of 5A at 250V AC / 24V DC on the normally closed contacts.
Linear Technology introduced the LTC2753-16, a dual 16-bit current output DAC capable of outputting six unique software-programmable SoftSpan unipolar and bipolar output ranges up to ±10V. Software programmability is said to eliminate the need for precision resistors, gain stages and switching jumpers by hand. The DAC offers
AMETEK Technical & Industrial Products announced the MAE brand “HY Series” hybrid stepper motors which exhibit low rotor inertia to promote maximum possible acceleration. These motors can provide accurate open-loop control and high-speed operation suitable for a wide range of positioning applications. The hybrid stepper motors are offered in four standard NEMA frame sizes (16, 17, 23, and 42) with step resolutions of 1.8º (200 steps per rev) in full-step mode.
Digi International introduced the XB wall router, a ZigBee router used to expand a ZigBee network's range. This device plugs into standard power sockets to compensate for a network's signal erosion or data loss due to distance or interference. It also creates multiple pathways to ensure maximum network reliability. The XBee wall router can be used with Digi's ConnectPortT X gateways, XBee embedded modules, XBee adapters, or XBee sensors.
Ironwood Electronics introduced a high performance QFN socket for 0.5 mm pitch devices.
