The eight modules feature full bridge configurations combining low saturation “Trench & Field Stop” IGBT top switches with fast NPT IGBT bottom switches for unipolar switching. The top IGBTs operate at line frequency, while the bottom IGBTs switch at frequencies from 15 kHz to 50 kHz.

This version uses the System FAULHABER skewed winding in combination with a rotor made of Neodymium rare-earth magnets to provide cog-free motion. The bearing system is composed of jewel bearings. With an external motor-diameter of 3 mm, a length of 8 mm and a weight of 0.33g, the motor is really a microdrive.

Hand-Held Visual Fault Locator

Its powerful red 650 nm laser provides the ability to locate damaged, broken or tightly bent fibers that cause undesirable attenuation in systems. The VFL cable jacket will glow red at the location of the fault. The flash button allows the user to toggle between continuous or pulsed mode. A single “AA” style battery is sufficient for more than 30 hours of continuous use and the soft-side protective case with belt loop provides protective storage.
