STMicroelectronics announced two application-specific digital temperature-sensor chips that are compliant with the JEDEC JC42.4 specification. They are intended for monitoring the temperature of the DIMMs used in personal computers. The model STTS424 is a stand-alone digital temperature sensor, while the STTS424E02 integrates the temperature sensor with a 2 Kbit serial presence detect EEPROM that is used on DIMMs to store timing parameters and other information about the module.
PCB Piezotronics announced its four-page, full-color brochure that is entitled, “Sensors for Power Generation and Reciprocating Equipment Monitoring.” It provides an overview of sensors to address the requirements of the power generation, reciprocating equipment and oil, gas and petrochemical equipment industries.
Tolomatic,Inc. introduced its MX product platform with MXE electric actuators that offer two different bearing options in a family of modular actuator bodies. All models and sizes are built-to-order. Features include durable bearings that reduce friction and extend actuator life in high load and moment applications, durable stainless steel bands that are magnetically retained to protect internal components from contamination, increasing uptime and reducing maintenance.
IMI Sensors Division announced its model 621B40 high-frequency industrial ICP accelerometer that works with online or portable monitoring systems to provide effective vibration monitoring. It operates to 30k Hz even with a magnet, and it captures high frequency gear mesh faults that are often missed during routine route-based measurements.
Cognex Corporation announced its SensorView 350, a compact industrial, panel-mount display for its Checker 200 series inspection sensors. The display allows operators to view production images of the parts that Checker is inspecting without a PC. It features an interface for displaying images of passed or failed parts, along with status indicators and results statistics to monitor the production process.
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions announced its Turcon Variseal PTFE-based system that is compatible with virtually all chemical media. Combined with optimal wear resistance and friction characteristics, it has the ability to withstand extreme operating temperatures. The system is energized with a spring fitted into the seal profile that is fully enclosed within a case so there is no possibility of metal extractables entering the system.
Cicoil Corp. announced its high performance silicone cable assemblies that are found on military jet aircraft in applications such as targeting pods, fuel control systems and missile gimbal and guidance systems. Features include high flexibility, the ability to be shaped to fit tight spaces, low weight and a broad temperature range extending from -65°F to +260°F.
Zierick Manufacturing Corp. introduced its surface mount insulation piercing crimp terminal and the tools that terminate a wire to surface mount printed circuit boards. This method of termination combines the advantages of crimping, insulation piercing and surface mount technology. The system consists of a surface mount terminal and a terminating machine that feeds the wire into the connector and makes the termination.
Misumi USA, Inc. announced its compact stopper blocks and stopper brackets for machine and assembly builds. The stopper blocks are available in low-carbon steel with black oxide or nickel plating, as well as 304 stainless steel. Configurable heights in 1 mm increments from 3 mm to 20 mm are offered with compact counterbore design for flush fitting in tight spaces.
Keystone Electronics Corp. announced a selection of rugged, press-in type PTFE (Teflon) insulated terminals for high temperature and high quality terminal and connector applications. Engineered for high density packaging on .062 and .093(TH) PC boards, these terminals provide optimal electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical characteristics. Rugged and resistant to mechanical shock and vibration, they operate within the temperature range of -85°F (-65°C) to +400°F (204°C).
Phoenix Contact introduced its T-Box and M12 adapter cover as part of its DUPLICON product range that offer installation flexibility. The T-Box is a compact alternative to stackable power distributor sets, and its contact insert has two screw connections per terminal for looping the power cable. The cable outlet on the additional stacked housing on the T-Box set can be plugged in any of the four directions.
W. L. Gore & Associates added high flex round cable to its online design tool, giving equipment designers more standard cable selections. The tool provides step-by-step instructions for configuring proprietary high flex cables (flat or round) or trackless cable from standard components. The round cable is available in two forms: single core with jacket for diameters less than 10 mm, and hybrid round cable configurations for combining multiple core components into one cable design
V-Infinity introduced a line of 30W DC/DC converters. The VSCQ30 series is compact, has a wide 4:1 input range, and excels in environments where space is at a premium and high efficiency is demanded. The pin mount version measures 2” x 1.6“. This series also has an available “T” chassis mount version for mounting convenience.
Ethertronics unveiled its compact Savvi ceramic antennas that include a Bluetooth-only version and a GPS/Bluetooth combination product. Suitable for powering a variety of multi-RF technology electronic devices, these miniature antennas use a proprietary technology with high isolation characteristics that make them immune to frequency shifts.
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced its SMNZ ultra-high-precision Z-Foil four-resistor network that provides a low absolute TCR of ±0.05ppm/°C from 0°C to +60°C and ±0.2ppm/°C from 55°C to +125°C, a PCR tracking of 5 ppm at rated power, a tolerance match of 0.01 percent and a load life ratio stability of 0.005 percent.
