Tecate Group’s RoHS-compliant CAP-XX supercapacitors are UL 810A Recognized under the Components Recognition Program of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. The UL 810A standard covers supercapacitors (electromechanical double-layer capacitors, or EDLCs) and is intended to further ensure the safety of electronic products and systems. Designed to address both the power delivery constraints of battery systems and the energy delivery limitations of conventional capacitors, the low profile, low ESR, high-capacitance supercapacitor cells feature a 2.75-V operating voltage, while modules comprised of the cells are supplied with either 4.5-V or 5.5-V operating voltage. The parts tout a wide operating and storage temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C. CAP-XX's thin, prismatic cells and modules are specified to provide burst and back-up power in space-constrained portable and wireless electronic products. They are most commonly employed in tablet and handheld PCs, mobile phones, bar-code scanners, credit card terminals, digital cameras, solid state disks (SSDs), location-tracking devices, smart meters, battery-free condition monitoring systems, and small uninterruptible power supplies.
