ETX moduleAdvantech announced the release of SOM-4463 B1 with further upgraded features, including support for DDR3 memory, a higher memory capacity up to 4 GB, compatibility with 24-bit LVDS, an additional IDE channel through PCIex1, and an ALC892 enhanced audio chip. This module is positioned as extremely flexible. The Intel Atom N455/D525 processor enhances performance and total power consumption, which is around 11 W for single-core and 13 W for dual-core. The ALC892 audio chip replaces the ALC888 chip and supports the latest Dolby True HD and DTS HD standards as well as upgrading audio quality. From the planning phase, component wide temperature support and future end-of-life concerns have been carefully considered, to ensure SOM-4463 B1’s sustainability and high quality. As price differences between DDR2 and DDR3 SODIMM modules grow, is presented as offering reduced RAM cost and easier access to RAM modules. Support for both 18-bit & 24-bit LVDS give the customer a wider selection of panels and the ability to enjoy higher resolutions. IDE support for a total of two interfaces is especially important for migration from 852 GM and 855 GME. The design of the SOM-4463 B1 accommodates customers that wish to have more than one IDE channel for a CF card and HDD.

In addition to its excellence in hardware, SOM-4463 B1 also supports Advantech’s unique software API, SUSI (Secure and Unified Smart Interface), a user-friendly, intelligent and integrated interface which speeds up development, enhances security, and adds value to Advantech platforms.
