“The release of Bourns’ new non-contacting rotary position sensor is in direct response to our customers’ requirements for solutions that help extend product life and reliability in an increasing number of applications that must operate in extreme environmental conditions,” said John Kelly, General Manager Industrial Market at Bourns, Inc. “Designed to maintain its magnetic orientation even during redundant mechanical operation, this new sensor provides an excellent solution to applications that are dormant for extended periods of time but require precise position information on demand. Bourns is committed to continued development of solutions that help our customers solve tough technology issues. We are not just delivering a new product, we are launching a new technology platform that will meet the existing and future needs of the Industrial, Consumer and Automotive markets we serve.”
Bourns’ non-contacting rotary position sensor helps improve product longevity up to fifty million cycles depending on the product and particular application. The new sensor has an analog single output from 0.1 to 4.9v, with an effective electrical output of 340 degrees and is programmable up to 360 degrees. The analog output features a 12 bit resolution and comes with independent linearity of 0.5% or 0.3%
