Harsh Environment Connectors Are Based on MIL-PRF-83526 16 and 17

harsh environment connectorsOptical Cable Corporation’s (OCC) lineup of harsh environment connectors includes products based on the retired U.S. DoD MIL-PRF-83526/16 and /17 performance specification. In addition to these 83526 multi-channel plug and receptacle connectors, the company also manufactures U.S. DoD QPL (Qualified Product s List) MIL-C-83522 Military ST Connector and ST Adapter products. Available in either four- or 12-channel shell sizes (2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 CH options), the COTS-83526 family of tactical fiber optic connectors includes features that service a wide variety of harsh environments.Companion receptacles include Internal Jam-Nut, External Jam-Nut, and Flange Mount configurations. Each of these receptacles are also available with Integrated Strain Relief backshells to better protect the optical fiber .

The OCC family of qualified MIL-C-83522 ST and ST adapter products features non-optical disconnect and are available in nickel-plated brass, or stainless steel. Ideally suited for the harsh, unprotected environments of aircraft, spacecraft, shipboard and land-based applications, this highly durable individually mounted connector system withstands extreme temperature change, shock, vibration and corrosion. These single terminus connectors are available for multi-mode or single-mode applications.
