LTA CheckBio/Data Corporation announced today the launch of its new LTA Check Performance Monitoring Test Kit and Software - the world’s first-in-class system to verify performance of Light Transmission Aggregometers.

The LTA Check Test Kit allows the laboratory to verify aggregometer function, standardize and ensure precision and reliability of test results, document the reagent system, comply with CLIA laboratory regulations, identify and reduce QC variables and validate consistent results across multiple sites.

The LTA Check Test Kit is based on the ability of a plasma and reagent to induce agglutination which when measured by the aggregometer being tested produces both a slope and percent aggregation result. Evaluation of these test results on a periodic basis allows the laboratory to generate information on the functionality of the instrument test system. Ranges and limits for quality control and system functionality may be recorded manually or by using the LTA Check Performance Monitoring Software. The software accepts data from the aggregometer and generates printable Levey-Jennings charts for review and evaluation of system performance based on Westgard rules for low volume tests. The aggregometer system can be verified on a “channel to channel” and a “test to test” basis. Bio/Data Corporation is offering the software (a $250.00 value) free of charge with the purchase of 12 LTA Check Test Kits. The kit includes all reagents and diluents to perform 18 half-volume or 9 full-volume determinations.
