Allowing motors to switch from a High-Torque/Low-Speed operation to a High-Speed/Low-Torque operation, the Dynetic Systems' Electronic Servo Transmission (EST) includes an internal Dynamic Breaking operation. Able to switch operation back and forth ‘ON-THE-FLY’ using simple I/O Digital commands, when commanded the EST delivers a high-current dump capable of handling up to 75 amps and 200 VDC that will bring the most stringent motor operation to a halt followed by a Zero Velocity short circuit operation to maintain the best Dynamic Breaking performance possible.
The ESTwill also monitor for System/Drive faults and display information indicating its operating mode and other stated conditions. It can also work in tandem with other Electronic Servo Transmissions monitoring for faults and signaling other EST units to stop their operation if a fault is detected, preventing catastrophic results. This new device will control brushless PM motors from small to large sizes.
