Multi-Tone Sound Module Meets TSI PRM Requirements

EAO Switch Corporation announced a new multi-tone sound module (MTSM) for use with the Series 56 switch line. The MTSM meets a variety of requirements as outlined by the Persons of Reduced Mobility Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI PRM) and increases passenger awareness above all when used with other ADA components for audible and visual indication. The MTSM can be programmed to emit clear warning and orientation sounds which may be adapted to any operating environment, especially rail vehicles. The module is pre-programmed with three TSI PRM-suitable tone sequences for door opening, door closing, and an orientation signal to help disabled users. Additional sequences for different volumes, directions, and intervals can be programmed. Additionally, the volume can now be adjusted after mounting which makes it easier to set the level according to how loud it is in the middle of the vestibule – a TSI PRM requirement. Using EAO's volume control box, the volume can be remotely adjusted in 1.5 dB steps between 66 dB and 90 dB to achieve the 70d B (+/- 2 dB) prescribed by the TSI PRM.
